The past three weeks have been far too hot to do anything in the yard.
Yardwork:
- The stepping stones from the patio to the backyard are now in place. I filled the area with soil and planted grass and clover seeds. I might have overseeded in some spots, but time will tell. I have never seeded grass or clover before…

Gardening:
- Enjoyed fresh basil from the garden.
- It’s wonderful to be able to step outside and harvest fresh produce. Our romaine lettuce is delicious—just relieved I didn’t end up biting into the cocoon that was attached to one of the leaves…

Flora:
- My shrub arrived surprisingly quickly—I now need to decide where to plant it.
- Our tiny raspberry bush has produced a few berries, and they’re so tasty!
- I has left some existing plants in the garden under our back living room window, and some of the phlox has bloomed.

Miscellaneous:
- We finally had a day with temperatures under 30 degrees!
- It’s been fairly smoky here. It is absolutely heartbreaking to hear about all the wildfires, especially the one in Jasper
