The past five months have been even busier than the first part of the year. With the arrival of Spring came a lot of work for our yard transformation, as we are continuing to work on our yard, particularly the backyard, aiming to create a welcoming habitat for wildlife, and hope to complete some of the key features before the end of the Autumn bird migration (and before the ground freezes). As a result, birding was more of a fleeting experience rather than a regular activity, but we did have some exciting moments – including the sighting of several lifers and a hummingbird that visited our yard for several days.
