Yardwork:
- Started redoing the back gate area by removing the large cement blocks and replacing them with round stepping stones. I also added the arch.
- Bought a reel lawn mower—it cuts the lawn beautifully, is much quieter than gas or electric mowers, and requires far less maintenance.
- We are still working on clearing out the flower bed for our vegetable garden. I can’t wait to have it finished.

Gardening:
- My parents brought over some rhubarb and tomato plants—so excited to get them in the garden!

Flora:
- We planted a lilac tree! When we bought our house, we wanted a tree that we could watch grow over the years. We chose a lilac for our backyard to mark the occasion, and we can’t wait to see it flourish and bloom. I hope I chose a good spot for it. We planted it near our back fence, hoping it will eventually block the view of the houses behind us.
- The seeds I started are coming along nicely! Cannot wait to get them in the ground.

Fauna:
- We had to evict the House sparrows from our garage and the vents in our chimney. Hopefully, they won’t find another spot in our yard to nest.
- We had Canada geese in our front yard one morning. While I enjoy all birds, I really hope they don’t return, especially to nest.
- We had a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet in our front yard for a while, and I finally managed to get some decent photos of it.
- I also spotted a Swainson’s Thrush in our yard.

Miscellaneous:
- I found an adorable ceramic duck and a duck painting at the thrift store that I just couldn’t resist. The duck looks so cute on our bathroom shelf.
- We enjoyed some backyard s’mores
- I baked bread for the first time ever (gluten free is always so tricky) – but it turned out so good.
