Yardwork:
- We created the pathways in the garden, keeping them minimal since the space is small, but ensuring we can easily access all our produce.
- Finally placed the last rock in the garden on the 9th. Feels so good to finally be done!

Gardening:
- I planted some Alberta native species in the front flower beds, including Eastern Red Columbine, Giant Hyssop, Meadow Arnica, Wood Lily, Smooth Blue Beardtongue, Red Paintbrush, Early Blue Violet, Silky Lupine, and Common Tall Sunflower.
- I started by planting marigolds around the perimeter of our garden, then planted our vegetables. Planting by citronella candle because the mosquitos are nasty out there!
- Our vegetable garden is done! I’m so excited about this!
- Picked up some Scarlet Runner Bean seeds to plant on one of the obelisks.
- Transplanted some roses that came with the house, but unfortunately, they didn’t take the transplant well.

Flora:
- A few flowers have started blooming in our yard, including a Columbine, a white rose, and a small yellow flower I haven’t been able to identify. Meanwhile, the ferns are also starting to get quite large.
- I designed and ordered a selection of Alberta native plants for the boulevard garden. This will bring us up to 38 native plant species in our yard.

Fauna:
- Do pests count as fauna? We’ve found a few aphid infestations, and I’m not thrilled about it. On the bright side, the ladybugs and other aphid-eating insects will be delighted.
- Spotted a dragonfly—can’t wait to build them a pond.

Miscellaneous:
- I finally ordered a rain barrel to capture rainwater for our flower gardens.
- Found some flower pots for the obelisks, including some larger ones I liked for only $20—what a pleasant surprise!
- As we were finishing up the garden, it started to rain. I was drenched and covered in mud, but I felt so happy. This is what bliss feels like.
- Made a dandelion garland while picking stems for cordage.
