Yardwork:
- Cleaned up the back corner, removing all the cement pavers and pieces, and placed them on the alley side of our garage with a “Free” sign in hopes someone can make use of them. Moved the remaining bricks and pavers to other locations.
- Cleared out all the flowers from the flower garden where we will be creating a pond.
- Revamped the firepit area. We used the slate stones we found, and incorporated some of the gravel between the stones to use it up. Will be grading around the firepit and seeding the area with grass and clover next.

Gardening:
- We picked our first ripe tomato and enjoyed a few peas. Both were delicious!

Flora:
- Our Virginia Creepers finally have a home! I decided that I really needed to get the cedar planters done. I designed them in Procreate and got started on the project. I am really proud of myself how they turned out. The first one was only about 1/4″ off, but the second one was perfectly square! I built cedar planters for them to climb up the arch on our patio step. Given that the sidewalk was laid exactly where the step meets the patio, I decided not to cut the step down to place the planters on either side (as I originally planned). Instead, I’ve positioned the planters directly on the steps. They don’t overhang much, so I’m not worried about that. It’s less work, reduces waste, and I actually like the look of it.

Fauna:
- Found a moth in the lettuce. I’m wondering if it’s the one from the cocoon we discovered a few weeks ago.

Miscellaneous:
- My husband and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. We didn’t do anything special – we did yardwork.
